Located within the Lagos Free Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, the terminal is focused on enabling global trade connections through efficient and sustainable operations.
The facility features deep-water access with a draft of up to 16.5 meters and advanced ship-to-shore handling capabilities, allowing it to receive large vessels and process substantial cargo volumes. Designed for scalability, the port supports the handling of millions of TEUs annually while helping to reduce logistics costs and congestion along the Lagos corridor.
LFT delivers port operations using automation, digital systems, and innovative processes, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable cargo movement for shipping lines and shippers while maintaining international safety standards.
Job Summary
Job Purpose
- The Key Client Manager is responsible for managing and expanding existing customer accounts by leveraging knowledge of customer needs and the terminal’s product and service offerings.
- The role also focuses on identifying new customers and business opportunities, achieving sales targets, and driving revenue growth for Lekki Freeport Terminal.

Key Responsibilities
Major Job Responsibilities
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of customers’ businesses, market trends, and industry developments.
- Identify current and emerging customer needs while uncovering opportunities for sales growth.
- Support customers in developing their businesses by aligning them with relevant terminal products and services.
- Apply the approved sales process in all interactions with existing and prospective customers.
- Conduct regular visits with both new and existing clients to demonstrate value and build relationships.
- Manage and expand a defined sales portfolio.
- Forecast, prospect, and pursue new business opportunities across customers, markets, and service offerings.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers, engaging decision-makers and influencers at all levels.
- Share insights on market trends and competitors with internal teams to strengthen value propositions.
- Collaborate with the customer care department to resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate sales records, including reports, updates, and action plans.
- Develop referral networks to generate new sales opportunities and expand the pipeline.
- Prepare and present proposals effectively for customer engagements.
- Process completed deals and follow up with relevant departments to ensure progress.
- Engage customers proactively to ensure successful delivery of services.
- Build long-term, profitable relationships while maintaining a professional company image.
- Keep the sales pipeline current and actively progress opportunities.
- Identify additional revenue opportunities, including land-based income streams for the terminal.
- Promote the company’s culture, values, and reputation while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a Sales or Commercial-related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a terminal sales role.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the industry and prevailing market conditions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience within a terminal environment.
Skills:
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve results.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to high ethical standards in professional conduct.
- Advanced consultative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into solutions.
