Accountant at Petrogap Oil & Gas Limited (PGOG)

Petrogap Oil and Gas Limited is a wholly indigenous company established in response to evolving trends within the Oil & Gas industry. The company operates across the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream sectors, positioning itself as a registered participant within Nigeria’s energy value chain.

• The company is looking for a practical and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in treasury functions, financial reporting, and taxation.
• The role covers daily accounting operations, including managing financial records, handling cash flow activities, preparing periodic reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• The position also involves supporting month-end processes and maintaining accurate financial documentation.

• Monitor cash flow, prepare payment schedules, and liaise with banking institutions
• Support treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements in line with IFRS standards
• Conduct bank reconciliations and review general ledger entries
• Ensure timely remittance of statutory obligations such as VAT, PAYE, WHT, CIT, and pensions
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
• Assist with budgeting processes, asset management, and maintenance of internal controls

• Bachelor’s Degree (First Class or 2:1) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• ACA or ACCA qualification is required
• 3–4 years of accounting experience with exposure to treasury and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry is an advantage
