Job Summary

  • SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is seeking a Pressure Safety Valves (PSV) Senior Technician to join its operations in Nigeria.
  • The successful candidate will oversee the safe inspection, testing, maintenance, and certification of Pressure Safety Valves across upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities.
  • The role involves ensuring compliance with DPR/NUPRC regulations, API standards, and company HSE policies while supporting operational safety, asset protection, and production continuity in high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair:

  • Disassemble, clean, lap seats, and replace springs, bellows, and O-rings on valves from brands such as Crosby, Anderson Greenwood, Leser, and Farris.
  • Carry out emergency repairs during unplanned shutdowns to minimize flaring penalties.

Testing & Certification:

  • Perform statutory PSV testing and recertification in line with NUPRC Guidelines and API 576 requirements, typically within 12-36 month intervals depending on service conditions.
  • Conduct bench testing and in-situ testing using deadweight testers and portable pop testers on FPSOs, flow stations, refineries, and gas plants.
  • Stamp and issue PSV certification tags approved by NUPRC and third-party inspectors.

HSE & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Maintain full compliance with DPR Safety Regulations 1997 and NMDPRA requirements.
  • Complete Permit to Work (PTW), JSA, and Toolbox Talk documentation before carrying out any task,

Requirements & Qualifications

Profile

  • Minimum of an ND / HND in Mechanical Engineering from an NBTE-accredited polytechnic, with B.Eng preferred for IOC roles.
  • API 510 or API 570 certification required.
  • BOSIET and HUET certifications required for offshore roles.
  • COREN registration is an added advantage.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including a minimum of 6 years in PSV maintenance.
  • FPSO/LNG experience is an added advantage.
