Job Summary
Unilever Nigeria Plc is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to oversee engineering operations within its supply chain function. The role involves supervising engineers and technicians, coordinating engineering projects, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will also provide technical leadership, support utility operations, and contribute to process optimization across packing and process lines.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, mentor, and assess engineers and technicians.
- Assign responsibilities, monitor work progress, and ensure projects are completed within timelines.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the team.
Project & Operations Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering projects from design through execution.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
- Review technical drawings, engineering specifications, and reports.
Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance on engineering methods, tools, and industry best practices.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and implement effective corrective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
- Support line focus engineering to improve efficiency across packing and process lines.
- Lead detailed RCA and EWO activities to reduce BD, MTTR, and MTBF.
Safety & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce workplace safety procedures and policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and reduce costs.
- Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Keep up to date with new technologies and industry developments.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experiences & Qualifications
- HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
- 5–8 years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of utility systems including power distribution, HVAC, boilers, chillers, and water treatment systems.
- Familiarity with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
