  • Foster collaboration through peer meetings and open communication channels to encourage knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and feedback on assigned tasks to improve performance and strengthen technical succession pipelines.
  • Align team goals with organizational priorities and contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions to optimize company objectives and resources.
  • Monitor intern and junior geologists’ performance using scorecards and progress reviews to address underperformance early.

Technical Geological Assessment:

  • Conduct regional and prospect-scale geological studies using basin and play analysis to establish a regional geological framework.
  • Perform geological interpretation through well-log correlation and cross-sections to develop geological models.
  • Integrate lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, structural geology, electro-log interpretation, and facies analysis for geological modeling.
  • Provide geological input and integrate subsurface well picks for seismic interpretation.
  • Review well picks using lithostratigraphic and biostratigraphic correlation to reduce misties and improve well top prognosis.

Prospect Maturation:

  • Conduct petroleum system analysis for hydrocarbon evaluation and exploration risk mitigation.
  • Produce hydrocarbon distribution charts using correlation and electro-log analysis for prospect identification and maturation.
  • Evaluate hydrocarbon potential through gross depositional environment (GDE) and environment of deposition (EOD) analysis.
  • Provide geological input through stratigraphic and structural interpretation for drillable prospect identification.
  • Support volumetric estimation and Chance of Success (POS) assessment using sedimentological and stratigraphic studies.

Exploration Drilling and Well Planning:

  • Provide geological input for fault seal analysis, well picks, cross-sections, and correlations for exploration well planning.
  • Develop geological prognoses for exploration wells to support optimal placement and reduce drilling risks.
  • Collaborate with drilling and operations teams to achieve geoscience objectives through safe and cost-effective practices.
  • Participate in real-time geological monitoring during drilling using data acquisition and analysis tools for decision-making support.
  • Participate in post-well analyses to capture lessons learned and improve basin and play models.

Technical Assurance Review:

  • Provide geological input for petrophysical evaluation of well data for accurate volumetric estimation.
  • Work on complex exploration projects such as regional studies and well execution within scope, time, and budget.
  • Assess reservoir presence and quality risks using sedimentological and stratigraphic analysis.
  • Conduct fault seal analysis to evaluate fault integrity and mitigate hydrocarbon migration and well control risks.
  • Validate project delivery through technical reviews aligned with quality and stakeholder expectations.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • BSc in Geology or related sciences.

Experience:

  • 5 – 10 years of relevant Oil and Gas industry experience, including onshore exploration exposure.
