Mission
- Implement sales strategies within the regional environment to achieve targets across MTN’s range of products and services.
- Lead and manage regional sales managers to drive sales performance, product distribution, market availability, and overall business growth objectives.
Description
- Provide strategic leadership to the regional sales and distribution team to ensure strong operational performance.
- Drive revenue growth, sales performance, customer acquisition, retail expansion, and effective market execution across the assigned region.
- Support collaboration across teams while ensuring efficient execution of sales, distribution, retail, and wholesale channel strategies.
- Oversee regional sales operations, dealership performance, stock management, territory coverage, and go-to-market execution to support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the sales and distribution team in the region.
- Ensure achievement of revenue, airtime sales, data device, data and VAS revenue, and gross connection targets within the assigned region.
- Coordinate the regional engine room as a platform for cross-functional collaboration and integration.
- Drive execution of MTNN’s retail agenda, including visibility and merchandising by retail formats, retail expansion, loyalty programmes, and relationship management.
- Execute wholesale channel strategies through relationship building with channel partners, loyalty programme execution, profitability management, and credit management.
- Ensure a consistent customer experience across all retail formats within the territory.
- Ensure effective field coverage by direct and auxiliary sales teams and oversee execution of go-to-market plans.
- Develop and implement coaching and development programmes for regional sales teams.
- Execute sales and distribution strategies to support sustainable channel growth and development.
- Ensure achievement of revenue, sales, and acquisition targets for voice and data services in line with network capacity.
- Oversee regional dealerships with MTN Trade partners and other sales channels to achieve overall regional sales targets.
- Ensure territory coverage across sales circles, manage stock availability targets, recommended retail pricing (RRP), and monitor sales performance trends.
- Liaise with regional stock and inventory teams to review sales and distribution performance, including stock availability.
- Submit monthly, quarterly, and yearly stock forecasts across regional channels.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- A First Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or any Social Science degree.
- Possession of a postgraduate degree may be an added advantage.
- Fluency in English and the language of the country is preferable.
Experience
9–17 years’ work experience, comprising:
- Managerial track record of 3 years or more, including at least 3 years in the relevant sector or industry.
- Experience working across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous.
- Sales experience in an FMCG environment, services industry, or logistics environment.
- Telecoms experience would be an added advantage.
