Job Summary

Mission

  • Manage assigned teams responsible for the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems across MTN Nigeria installations, including switch/data centers and office facilities.
  • Provide operational support for BTS site power infrastructure while ensuring efficient and reliable power systems management.

Description

  • Lead the development of long-term plans and strategic direction for unit power systems and facility maintenance activities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with MTN operational policies and procedures across assigned regional power systems while driving operational efficiency improvements.
  • Provide leadership initiatives to ensure regional power systems are operated and maintained according to company standards.
  • Oversee the timely resolution of major and minor power system faults within the assigned region.
  • Ensure weekly reports on network power operations performance are prepared and available.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective management information system for regional power operations.
  • Produce and distribute monthly reports covering all assigned regional power systems activities.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance activities for assigned facilities to support uninterrupted operations and service delivery throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Description

  • Take responsibility for the development of long-range plans and direction for unit power systems and facilities maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to MTN policies and procedures within assigned regional power systems operations.
  • Drive operational efficiency improvements across regional power infrastructure.
  • Provide direction to ensure network operations and maintenance meet company standards.
  • Manage the prompt resolution of major and minor power system faults in the region.
  • Ensure availability of weekly reports on power systems performance.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient management information system for regional power operations.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly reports on regional power systems activities to management.
  • Coordinate and manage routine maintenance activities for assigned facilities to ensure uninterrupted operations and service delivery.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • A first Degree in Electrical / Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant professional certifications such as COREN and IEE/IEEE
  • Fluent in English
  • Project Management experience

Experience:
6 - 13 years’ experience which includes:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high-capacity power and systems within a large data center environment, including supervisory or management responsibilities
  • Experience working within a medium to large organization
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance/management of power and cooling systems
