Mission

• To manage, coordinate, and oversee business and budget planning activities for the Network Group.
• To coordinate the development of Network Group strategy in alignment with MTN Nigeria’s strategic objectives.

Description

• The successful candidate will support the development of MTN Nigeria’s business plan while managing budget and business planning processes within the Network Group.
• The role involves preparing and implementing budgets, conducting business forecast analysis, reviewing operational expenditure against budget assumptions, and supporting strategic planning initiatives.
• The position also requires analysing business assumptions, preparing KPI reports, conducting industry research, and supporting data-driven planning across the organization.

• Provide input into the development of MTN Nigeria’s business plan and manage the budget and business planning team in preparing, producing, and implementing budgets.
• Conduct business plan forecasts in line with organizational requirements and Network Group rollout/build objectives.
• Review monthly actual expenditure against budget assumptions to support quarterly Opex and Capex forecasts.
• Analyse assumptions within the business plan to improve predictability and minimize unexpected outcomes.
• Prepare and distribute monthly reports on Network Group KPIs.
• Monitor developments within the telecommunications industry and assess their impact on MTN Nigeria’s business plans.
• Collaborate with marketing teams in developing the Network Group budget, business plans, and strategy.
• Carry out extensive research and data mining based on operational realities and their impact on business forecast planning.

Education

• First Degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Fluent in English.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• MBA is desirable.

Experience:

• 6 - 13 years’ experience in relevant functions.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a specialized area, including supervisory or management experience.
• Experience working in a medium to large organization.
• Hands-on experience performing similar functions in multinational manufacturing or telecommunications companies.
• Experience in a large GSM network rollout environment is an added advantage.
• Experience in market or industry research and data mining.
