Job Summary
Mission
- Administer and coordinate formal meetings within MTN Nigeria.
- Support the Deputy Company Secretary and Company Secretary in meeting MTN Group requirements and ensuring compliance with corporate governance practices.
Description
- Maintain, file, and retrieve documents, records, and reports while ensuring confidentiality and accurate filing of statutory records.
- Provide statistical information when required and support smooth interactions between board members and shareholders.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with mandates, delegations, and authorities approved by the Board in line with MTN corporate governance policies.
- Support the delivery of secretarial services to the MTN Board, including coordinating meetings, managing logistics, recording minutes, and maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Assist in handling various corporate and statutory secretarial functions, including correspondence preparation, report compilation, word processing, and spreadsheet management.
- Provide support services to directors and ensure adherence to corporate legislation and the company’s articles of association.
- Draft minutes for Board and Board Committee meetings and assist with preparation of memos, letters, and related documentation.
- Coordinate the Board of Directors’ annual calendar and participate in Board and Board Committee meetings for MTNN and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities
Mission

- Support the Deputy Company Secretary / Company Secretary with MTN Group requirements and compliance with corporate governance processes.
Description
- File and retrieve documents, records, and reports while maintaining confidentiality of company and client information.
- Ensure statutory documents are accurately filed and maintained.
- Provide statistical data as required and manage organizational records and reports.
- Support shareholder relations and interactions between shareholders and board members.
- Assist with compliance relating to mandates, delegations, and authorities approved by the Board.
- Support secretarial services for the MTN Board and related committees, including meeting arrangements, logistics coordination, minute-taking, and distribution.
- Coordinate corporate and statutory secretarial activities, including correspondence drafting, report compilation, and spreadsheet management.
- Support directors in carrying out their duties and ensure compliance with corporate legislation and company regulations.
- Draft minutes for Board and Board Committee meetings and assist with memos and official correspondence.
- Coordinate the Board of Directors’ annual calendar and attend Board and Board Committee meetings for MTNN and subsidiaries.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
- LLB, BA Law or equivalent qualification
- First Degree in any relevant discipline
- Fluent in English
Experience:
- 6-13 years’ experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a specialized area, including supervisory or management experience
- Experience working in a medium to large organization
- Knowledge of the Nigerian telecommunications, investment, and financial environment will be an advantage
- Commercial, technical, and/or further legal qualification will be an advantage
