Key Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure Administration:

  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network security systems.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high system uptime and reliability.
  • Manage LAN/WAN environments, VPN connections, internet services, and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Configure and maintain security solutions such as firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls, and monitoring tools.
  • Carry out network assessments, performance optimization, and capacity planning activities.
  • Monitor server performance and support server administration tasks including updates, patch management, and maintenance.
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Ensure data security, system integrity, and compliance with organizational IT standards and policies.
  • Maintain updated network diagrams, configurations, inventories, and technical documentation.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, group policies, and access rights across systems and applications.
  • Support cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure environments where applicable.
  • Liaise with vendors, internet service providers, and third-party support teams when necessary.

Technical Support & Systems Administration:

  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, systems, and network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve network outages, system failures, and connectivity issues promptly.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Support software deployments, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor IT assets, licensing, and system usage to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Support deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of business applications and enterprise systems.

Software Application Testing and Training:

  • Assist in testing software applications and updates before deployment to ensure compatibility and functionality.
  • Document test outcomes, system issues, and resolutions for future reference.
  • Support users during application deployments and system upgrade activities.
  • Conduct IT orientation and cybersecurity awareness training sessions for staff.
  • Deliver training on assigned technology courses during coding bootcamps.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in network administration, systems administration, or IT infrastructure support.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching.
  • Experience with network devices such as Cisco, MikroTik, or similar technologies is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization, and backup solutions.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, firewall management, and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and user support abilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, MCSA, or equivalent are an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Candidates must reside in Lagos, while proximity to the Island is an added advantage.
