
Victoria University of Wellington sponsors the Tongarewa International Scholarship to assist international students to pursue their bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate studies in New Zealand.
This partial fee-based scholarship will cover tuition fees for one year of study. The institution awards a number of these scholarships to new international students entering their first year of undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
Founded in 1897, Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) is a higher institution in Wellington, New Zealand. It was initially known as Victoria College, a constituent college of the University of New Zealand.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants are required to prove English proficiency
- Applicant should be a foreigner
- Candidate must apply to a bachelor’s program at Victoria University of Wellington
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need

Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates selected to benefit from the Tongarewa International Scholarship will receive aid valued at $5,000 or $10,000. The amount will be applied toward tuition fees for all levels of study.
