University of Michigan International Student Scholarship program is created for the purpose of empowering students from different parts of the world who wish to pursue their studies in the United States of America.
Every year, grant is awarded to incoming freshmen under this Scholarship which is valued at $100,000. $25,000 is offered to the candidate over a period of four years.

The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan is offering the 2025 International Student Scholarship to candidates seeking to obtain bachelor’s degree from the higher institution.
A limited number of scholarships are awarded to candidates through the LSA Scholarships Office to first-year incoming LSA students. These awards will be renewable for four years of study. The selection process is based on information provided through their scholarship and undergraduate admissions application.
Tuition Fees
The cost of studies at the University of Michigan is expensive for international students. Those studying at the institution are generally required to pay tuition fees that range from about $57,714 to $79,649.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must;
- Meet English language proficiency requirements
- Not be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Be an incoming first-year undergraduate student admitted to a degree program in the College of LSA.
- Must be enrolled (or intend to enroll) full-time (12 credit hours or more) each term.
- Students will be considered for the scholarship even if they have not enrolled.
Scholarship Benefits
Beneficiaries will be awarded scholarship worth $100,000 of which $25,000 will be payable for the candidate over a period of four years. These scholarships are renewable every year, provided students maintain eligibility. For qualified LSA students, the International Student Scholarship helps to cover the cost of attendance.

Application Procedure

- You must first be admitted to commence the scholarship application
- Create a UM Friend Account or log in with your UM username and password.
- Verify a UM Friend Account on Wolverine Access.
- The process may take up to 48 hours.
- Once verification is complete, you can submit your application for the scholarship.
