
IHE Delft hosts the Rotary Scholarship in partnership with UNESCO for international students looking to study in the Netherlands. This scholarship is fully funded and awarded annually to graduate students pursuing studies at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education.
The 2025 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship provides coverage for the candidates travel costs, tuition fees and living stipends. It also covers their visa fees and health insurance.
IHE Delft Institute for Water Education is situated in Delft, the Netherlands. This institute of learning founded in 2001 is the largest international graduate water education facility in the world.
The aim of this scheme is to promote long-term productive relationships between Rotarians and highly skilled water and sanitation professionals in developing and emerging countries. Rotary Foundation and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education sponsor this program to tackle the world’s water and sanitation crisis by increasing the number of trained professionals.
Tuition Fees
International students undertaking academic programs at universities in the Netherlands pay tuition fees based on their nationality. The cost of studying a Bachelor’s program is typically between €9,000 and €20,000. Master’s students pay tuition fees within the range of €12,000 to €30,000.
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must;
- Be a Rotarian
- Have been admitted to IHE Delft Institute for Water Education’s
- Be enrolled in an MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development
- Choose one of the following thematic tracks;
- Water and Health
- Water, Food and Energy
- Water Resources and Ecosystems Health
- Water Hazards, Risks and Climate
If you are deemed suitable, the sponsoring Rotary Club will help you fill out and send an application form to the joint Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee.
Scholarship Benefits
The IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship is a fully funded program that covers tuition fees, medical insurance, living stipends and travel costs.
Application Procedure
- You must first apply for admission to the IHE Delft MSc program
- Go to the nearest Rotary club in the early stages of your application and ask them to nominate you
- You are to fill out the application with the assistance of the Rotary Club
- When it is complete, the sponsoring Rotary Club will forward your application.
