The Romanian Government offers scholarships to students from different countries annually, enabling them to obtain bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees abroad.
This scheme which is funded through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs only supports candidates with good results in their previous academic studies. It covers the candidate’s tuition fees in full, housing and stipends for living expenses.
Students are permitted to apply for this scholarship while pursuing any program except Medicine, Dental Medicine and Pharmacy. Romanian is the language of instruction for Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. However, at PhD level, applicants can also opt for a program in English or a foreign language set by the doctoral school.
Tuition Fees
If you are an international student pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in Romania, the tuition fees are determined by the higher institution or program. However, students pay between €2,000 and €5,000 for an academic year. Students might be required to pay more for medicine and engineering courses.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be citizens of countries outside Europe, with exceptions for Romanian nationals or residents.
- Submit a complete file
- Hold bachelor’s or master’s certificates from recognised institutions
- Have excellent academic performance
- Comply with the application submission methodology.

Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the Romanian Government Scholarships will be awarded financial aid that covers tuition fees. Accommodation will be provided in the dormitories and beneficiaries will receive a monthly allowance.
