Hohai University offers scholarships to academically talented international students pursuing postgraduate studies in China. The Hohai University CSC Scholarship, sponsored by the Chinese Government, is a fully funded program that will cover all the students’ expenses. It is available for master’s and doctorate studies.
Established in 1915, Hohai University is a research university in Nanjing, China. The higher institution was founded as Hohai Civil Engineering School and is renowned for disciplines such as hydrology, water resources and hydraulic engineering.
Tuition Fees
On average, if you are an international student in the art, engineering or management fields at Hohai University, the tuition fees you will be paying is pegged at CNY 32,000 per year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must;
- Be non-Chinese nationals
- Be in good physical and mental health.
- Have a bachelor’s degree if applying for master’s program, and
- Be under 35 years of age.
- Have a master’s degree if applying for PhD program, and
- Be under the age of 40.
- Have excellent grades and outstanding scientific research ability.
- Not have received other scholarships.
- Provide Chinese proficiency test (HSK) level 4 or above (Valid for 2 years).

- Notarized certificate of bachelor’s/master’s degree
- Graduating students must submit pre-graduation certificate
- Copy of research documents
- Copy of language proficiency test.
- Copy of a valid passport.

- Letters of recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors
Scholarship Benefits
Students selected to participate in the Hohai University CSC Scholarship will receive fully funded support that covers the full tuition fee, free accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance. There will also be monthly stipend of CNY 3,000 for master’s applicants and CNY 3,500 for PhD applicants.
