
The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program offers lottery-funded scholarships to reward academically outstanding students who graduated from high schools in the state. Bright Futures Scholarship Program is sponsored by the Florida Government to offer domestic and international students the opportunity to pursue undergraduate studies without financial challenges.
There are two main categories under the Bright Futures Scholarship; Florida Academic Scholar Award (FAS) and Florida Medallion Scholar Award (FMS), which target students who have demonstrated academic merit through a recognition program.
Candidates selected for either the Florida Academic Scholar or Florida Medallion Scholar may receive funding for up to five years to aid them in completing their bachelor’s degree at any higher institution in Florida, USA.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

- Be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible foreigner
- Have a standard Florida high school diploma or its equivalent
- Not have any criminal record or felony unless granted clemency
- Have been accepted into an eligible Florida postsecondary institution.
- Be enrolled for at least six non-remedial semester credit hours.
Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the Florida Academic Scholar award will be privileged to enjoy 100% coverage for tuition and applicable fees. The Florida Medallion Scholar award will provide candidates with aid to cover 75% of tuition and other fees.
Application Procedure
- Interested candidates should have already been admitted to a Florida institution’s undergraduate program
- To apply for the scholarship, you have to fill out and submit the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA)
