Tuition Fees

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate major in Physics and/or Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh.
  • Have an interest in conducting research within the department.
  • Should not be receiving full tuition scholarship support from other sources.
  • Should have at least one full year of undergraduate study remaining

Selection Process

The process of evaluating applications will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the Department of Physics & Astronomy. The criteria they use in making the selection include;

  • Academic background and coursework relevant to the field.
  • Quality of the proposed research project, including the research question, methodology, and expected outcomes.
  • Applicant’s experience and alignment with their chosen faculty mentor.

Scholarship Benefits

The Emil Sanielevici Undergraduate Research Scholarship will award recipients a $7,000 award, which will be disbursed directly to the student’s tuition account at the University of Pittsburgh. Beneficiaries will work on a research project under mentorship, and the program will last for one academic year.
