
British Council Women in STEM Scholarship is a program that offers women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields financial support to study in the United Kingdom.
Participants of this scholarship program will receive funding to pursue a master’s degree in a STEM subject at a leading UK university. Under this scheme, which is fully funded and operated in partnership with UK universities, students will receive coverage for tuition fees, travel costs, and health insurance. They will also be given living stipends.
To be selected, women from eligible countries must demonstrate their need for financial support and desire to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.
Eligibility Criteria
The requirements that applicants are expected to fulfill have been highlighted below.
- Applicant must be a woman
- Candidate must demonstrate financial need
- Candidate must be a bachelor’s degree holder
- Applicant must be ready to take up master’s program in the UK.
- Applicant must prove English language proficiency
- You must be active in the field with work experience or a proven interest in your subject area.
- You must be passionate about the course of study
- You must commit to engaging as a committed British Council scholarship alumni.

Benefits of Scholarship
As a recipient of this fully funded scholarship, you will be awarded aid to full tuition fees, travel costs and health insurance. Also, the British Council Women In STEM Scholarship visa fees, and a stipend for the student’s living expenses.
Application Procedure
- Applicants should go to the participating universities’ scholarship portals
- Select an eligible STEM master’s program
- Then, apply jointly for admission and the scholarship
