Yahoo Yahoo: The lifestyle of young boys is attracting EFCC – Portable

Habeeb Okikiola, the singer popularly known as Portable, has claimed that the lavish lifestyles of internet fraudsters aka Yahoo Boys, is the main reason the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is cracking down on them.

Portable called out youth in their country for neglecting their parents in poverty while they live luxurious lifestyles by using expensive phones and lodging in hotel.

The artiste who sent a message in a video posted on Instagram, however, urged the anti-graft agency to properly investigate before making arrests, stressing that not everyone living such life is into internet fraud.

He said; “Why won’t EFCC arrest the youths when they are doing Yahoo, using iPhone 15 and lodging in hotels, but their mothers are selling akara [bean cake] and their fathers are suffering.”

CorrectNG recalls that few months ago, the ‘Zazuu Zeh’ star begged the EFCC not to penalise him for spraying money to his fans.

He asked the anti-graft agency to forgive him amid their recent clampdown on those who deface the Naira. It may be recalled that Portable recently disclosed how he sprays about N3m to N4m daily as a way of supporting his loyal fans.

He said; “Anytime I want to go out, I withdraw, like two to three million, so when I spray people don’t disturb me. Even if they disturb me, they don’t hurt me. My fans will never hurt me. They can spoil my car and everything but they won’t hurt me because they want me to live long.

“Even my enemies are now benefitting under me, most of my enemies, because I bless them. When you bless them they will never turn their back on you. They will still be helping you.”

But in another live session on social media, the music star denied abusing the Nigerian currency and explained that his actions bring help to a lot of people.

Portable said in part; “I didn’t deface the Naira, I help a lot of people, After God na Government, Please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money, no more spraying of money.”
