Gabriel Oche Amanyi, the singer popularly known as Terry G, has described Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid as the Nigerian version of American rap legend, Jay-Z.

Terry G further stated that what he likes about the 33-year-old Starboy Entertainment founder is his carriage and how he has inspired a lot of people.

He said; “Wizkid is the Jay-Z of our generation. He’s the first [born child of the new generation of Nigerian musicians] and we’ll always give it to him. One thing I like about Wizkid is his carriage. He has inspired a lot of people”.

The ‘Akpako Master’ also recalled the time Wizkid came to his house back for a recording session with him and he was thankful for that opportunity.

He said they recorded four songs in the studio, and revealed that when he released one of them, the singer demanded he took it down from streaming platforms.

Terry G said; “Wizkid came to my house in Ishaga in 2016 to record a song with me. I was very happy he came. We recorded 4 songs together. God bless Wizkid”.

He added; “I didn’t clear the song I made with Wizkid [‘Mary Jane’] because, in my era, we don’t clear songs; we do collaborations based on love. The lawyers have reached out to me to take the song down.

“To be honest, we’ve got to be professional and do paperwork. Because if that doesn’t work, nothing will work. So trust me, I have pulled down the song. For the platforms that are yet to take it down, I will make sure it is taken down on those platforms, too, soon.”
