Satan controls the industry – Patrick Doyle says as Tems wins BET Best Gospel Award

Nigerian actor and movie producer, Patrick Doyle has claimed that the entertainment industry is being controlled by Satan.

The veteran actor stated this in a Facebook post while reacting to popular singer, Temilade “Tems” Openiyi’ winning the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational at the 2024 BET Awards.

Tems win BET gospel award 2024

Tems, a secular musician beat big gospel stars such as Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Maverick City Music, and others to clinch the award with her song ‘Me & U’ at the Peacock Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, United States on Monday.

Reacting to the controversies that her win generated, Doyle cautioned gospel singers, who are committed Christians, to stop seeking validation from the entertainment industry mafia.

He wrote; “I feel the pain of mainstream gospel artistes who feel slighted that an evidently secular musician, Tems was awarded for best gospel song.

“That said, I believe it is about time that committed Christians should stop seeking validation from fickle institutions like the entertainment industry mafia which by the way is in the grip of Satan.”

In 2022, Tems won the the BET awards for Best International Act and Best Collaboration for her collaboration on Wizkid’s ‘Essence’.
