Olamide turned down N100m I gave him for collabo – Tiwa

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa has made an interesting revelation about her collaboration with ace rapper, Olamide Adedeji.

The ‘Somebody’s Son’ crooner said she offered Olamide N100 million for a verse in her newly released song “Commona”, but he rejected the money.

In a post on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Tiwa explained that the Hip Hop star’s management billed her that amount but when she paid it, he refused to accept.

According to the songstress, Olamide didn’t charge when he learnt that it was her and it was because of his knowledge of the hardships that female artistes face in the music industry.

Speaking on their sibling-like bond, Tiwa appreciated the rapper for exhibiting his helpful and caring personality towards her.

She said; “I was talking to his management, I did not want to talk to him directly because he would want to do it for free. I was willing to pay and his team charged me N100m. When Olamide asked them who the artiste was, he just said NO. He won’t take it.

“He said I’m his sister and he knows how difficult it is for a woman to make it in the industry. And guess what? He gave the verse for free. Good people exist and Baddo is one”.

Meanwhile, in another news…

Budding Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, Tochukwu “Odumodublvck” Ojogwu, earlier revealed that ace singer, Zlatan Ibile featured on ‘Picanto’ for free.

He made the disclosure in a bid to address the issue of rising artistes expecting big musicians that they featured to also promote their songs.

Odumodu who featured Zlatan and Ecko Milez on the hit song, said it will be stupidity for him to ask someone who did not charge him a fee to post the song links.

He said Fireboy also gave him a free feature and they did the most important thing by showing up, recording and appearing in the music video.

The rapper wrote; “Dear Artist. Some People Will Feature An Artist And Expect The Artist To Carry The Song On Their Head. hen I Featured Zlatan, He Gave Me That Verse For Free. Same With Fireboy.

I Will Be The Most Stupiid Idiot On The Planet To Pressurize Them For A Couple Instagram Post And Twitter Post. Then Get Sad Or Angry If They Do Not Do It. These Niggas Have Already Done The Most Important Thing. They Came,They Recorded, And Even Made Video Appearance.

Now Its Up To Me Not To Disappoint Them By Pushing The Song With My Life So That They Too Can Reap The Rewards Of Their Unending Kindness. But No. You Go Feature Person Wan Turn The Person To Your Publicist. You Are Not Ready My Dear Friend. For Whom Much Is Given Much Is Expected.”
