Nigeria Vs Benin: Super Eagles is a reflection of the government – Illbliss

Popular Nigerian rapper, Illbliss has reacted to Super Eagles Monday night loss to Benin Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match.

The former African champions suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in their matchday four encounter in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Taking to his Twitter page, Illbliss likened the the Super Eagles’ loss to the manner in which the Nigeria’s government operates.

He said the Finidi-led team is a reflection of the government, which is inconsistent with its strategy and confusd about decision or actions to be taken.

He wrote; “The Super Eagles is a reflection of the Government. Lethargic … Inconsistent… Confused…”

Head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Finidi George, has said the team can’t afford to give up on their target of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking at the post match conference, Finidi acknowledged that there is no special formula for winning, and also challenged his players not to throw in the towel at this stage.

He expressed optimism that Super Eagles will still can still win its upcoming games, and he will have to find a way to make the players improve.

Finidi said: “There’s no special formula to win; we have to see how the players will start a new season now and see how we can get the beat out of the players.

“Everybody must be committed and I believe with commitment we will win games. I believe we are going to win games and if we can win games, the battle will still be there.

“We can’t throw in the towel because we’ve had only three points, we have to find a way to get these players back in a way for them to perform.”
