My son’s life was cut short – Veteran actor Pete Edochie mourns late Junior Pope (Video)
Weeks after the passing of budding Nigerian actor, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo popularly known as Junior Pope, he is being mourned by legendary actor, Pete Edochie.
The veteran actor reacted to the tragic demise of his younger colleague in a video posted on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, April 30.
CorrectNG recalls that Pope died in a boat accident in Anambra state. The 39-year-old actor and three of his colleagues were coming back from a movie location when the boat capsized and they fell into Anam River.
Edochie expressed sadness and stated that the life of the late actor had been cut short. He referred to the father of three as his son and noted that he is a gift to the world.
The movie star went on to urge fans to embrace the spirit Junior Pope and let go of the drama that has been created on social media following his death.
He also acknowledged and extended words of gratitude to businessman, Emeka Okonkwo aka E-Money, who recently offered to raise the children left behind cater for the children of Junior Pope.
Edochie said; “His life was cut short the way we never expected it; we shall all go someday, but not in this manner. I want to make a general appeal let us pray to God to accept the soul of Junior Pope and cut out the nonsense people have been putting out on social media. Let us allow his soul to rest. I am appealing. My son Junior Pope was a gift to the entire world”.
He captioned the clip; “May the Souls of all the Faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace. 🙏🏾 💔”
