Man rewarded with over N7.5m for returning foreigner’s $14k erroneously credited to his account

A young Nigerian man simply identified as Femi has become an internet sweetheart after he returned the sum of $14k mistakenly transferred to his account by a foreign crypto trader.

He won a giveaway which was launched by Raffa, a cryptocurrency expert and was supposed to get $100 in Solana but the man accidentally credited his account with $14,000.

According to the millionaire when he realised his error, he asked the Nigerian to send him back 90 Solana and keep the 10, and much to his surprise, the young man sent it back.

Raffa expressed happiness over Femi’s honesty, saying that there is still hope and honest people in the crypto community.

After his gesture went viral, it melted the hearts of many who decided to raise money as a way of encouraging Femi for being a honest person.

Femi, who recently disclosed his reason for not keeping the money, expressed his gratitude after checking his crypto wallet and seeing over $5,000 (more than N7.5 million).

Giving an update on microblogging platform, Twitter, Femi wrote: “Waoh $5000 this is amazing @raffayalvi.”
