Job Summary

The Territory Development Manager will be responsible for selling company products to customers, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies within the assigned territory.

Benin, Edo State, and Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers
  • Conduct market research to identify sales opportunities and evaluate customer needs
  • Implement the cascaded annual business strategy to promote business success
  • Execute sales and trade marketing techniques, including product display and merchandising, to ensure efficiency
  • Ensure direct reports cover assigned routes and submit daily reports
  • Monitor direct reports’ sales performance
  • Set up meetings with potential clients, negotiate, and close deals
  • Gather customer feedback and share with internal teams, ensuring prompt resolution
  • Submit daily sales reviews and reports to the line manager
  • Ensure availability of stock for sale
  • Execute the route-to-market strategy
  • Stay up to date with the latest sales trends and best practices

Requirements & Qualifications

  • BSc or HND in any relevant field
  • Minimum of 6 years FMCG sales experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret sales data and market trends
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/Sales Management tools
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies is an advantage
