Job Summary

  • Dangote Group is seeking an experienced SAP PM Senior Consultant to join its SAP Delivery Center in India.
  • The role involves full lifecycle management of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) solutions, including design, configuration, implementation, testing, and ongoing support.
  • The consultant will act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with maintenance, operations, and finance stakeholders to translate asset management requirements into effective SAP PM solutions.
  • The position focuses on optimizing maintenance processes, reducing downtime, and improving overall asset performance.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong SAP PM expertise, proven project experience (including S/4HANA transitions), and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Business Requirements Analysis & Solution Design:

  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, production, and finance users to gather and document plant maintenance requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and design scalable SAP PM solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Lead workshops and design sessions to validate requirements and achieve stakeholder consensus.

SAP PM Configuration & Customization:

  • Perform hands-on configuration across SAP PM functionalities, including:
    • Master Data: Functional Locations, Equipment, BOMs, measuring points, counters, warranties, maintenance plans.
    • Notifications: Notification types, catalog profiles, coding.
    • Work Orders: Order types, operations, control keys, cost settlement rules.
    • Breakdown, corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance processes.
    • Calibration processes.
    • Maintenance planning, task lists, strategies, and scheduling parameters.
    • Maintenance catalogs (damage, cause, activity codes).
    • Permit processing.
  • Ensure configurations align with functional specifications and integrate seamlessly within SAP systems.

Project Implementation & Delivery:

  • Participate in all SAP PM project lifecycle phases (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run).
  • Prepare functional specifications for RICEF objects and collaborate with ABAP developers.
  • Support data migration for PM master data such as equipment, functional locations, and maintenance plans.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and execute test cases and scripts for SAP PM functionalities.
  • Lead unit testing, support system integration testing (SIT), and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Identify and resolve defects and issues during testing and post-go-live phases.

Training & Documentation:

  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain documentation including process flows, configuration guides, and user manuals.

Integration & Cross-Module Collaboration:

  • Understand integration between SAP PM and other modules such as MM, FI/CO, QM, PS, and HR.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure seamless business processes.

Ongoing Support & Optimization:

  • Provide Level 2/3 support for SAP PM issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and improved reporting.
  • Manage and resolve change requests and incidents effectively.

Mentorship & Thought Leadership:

  • Mentor junior consultants and support teams.
  • Stay updated on SAP S/4HANA Asset Management developments and industry trends.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP PM Consultant.
  • Experience in at least 2–3 full lifecycle SAP PM implementation or enhancement projects.
  • Strong expertise in corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance processes.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Asset Management is advantageous.
  • Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 PM is required.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expert knowledge of SAP PM configurations, master data, and business processes.
  • Strong understanding of integration with MM, FI/CO, QM, and PS modules.
  • Ability to develop detailed functional specifications for RICEF objects.
  • ABAP debugging skills are desirable.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Fiori apps, SAP BW, and SAC.

  • Industry-specific experience relevant to Dangote Group operations.
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Familiarity with IoT integration for predictive maintenance.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori apps for Plant Maintenance.
