Job Summary

The Production Technologist role is positioned within Shell’s Deepwater team, where subsurface excellence plays a central role in investment decisions and energy delivery. The position involves supporting high-value assets, contributing to major development activities, and driving production performance.

This role provides full-spectrum Production Technology support to the Bonga North Asset, including WRFM, well integrity, ARPR, LTRO, and pre-DG1 studies. It also involves contributing expertise to the Erha/Erha North Asset and supporting broader Deepwater WRFM and hydrocarbon resource management activities.

Key Responsibilities

Role Purpose

  • Provide full-spectrum Production Technology support to the Bonga North Asset, covering WRFM, well integrity, ARPR, LTRO, and pre-DG1 studies
  • Contribute Production Technology expertise to Erha/Erha North Asset (NOV)
  • Support wider ADSSM Deepwater WRFM and hydrocarbon resource management activities

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver high-quality Production Technology input across WRFM, ARPR, LTRO, and resource maturation activities
  • Support implementation of WRFM processes, including the Practice Table, ensuring global WRFM standards and minimum requirements are met
  • Promote the use of appropriate technologies and techniques to enhance production potential and reduce locked-in potential
  • Plan and implement fit-for-purpose surveillance data acquisition, interpretation, and management for production optimization and regulatory compliance
  • Drive production system optimization using WRFM global processes and standards, including building integrated production system models (IPSM)
  • Lead structured reviews of wells and reservoirs to identify short-term production opportunities or propose future utilization plans
  • Monitor and participate in milestone QA/QC activities in line with DCAF requirements and ensure technical assurance across disciplines
  • Provide input into resource volume and forecast data for annual business plans, as well as medium- and short-term activity plans
  • Support SEC, NNS, and PRCS-compliant resource volume estimation and reporting
  • Embed HSSE principles in all work activities
  • Maintain strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and partners
  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members to strengthen technical capability

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Science
  • Proven experience in completion design, artificial lift, sand control management, production enhancement and optimization, and well integrity management
  • Proficiency in Production Technology software such as WePS, Prosper, IPSM, FIST, Stim2001, SPOT, and WellCat
  • Knowledge of PI, Production Universe, and OFM is an added advantage
  • Strong experience preparing Production Technology input for WRFM, well integrity, and well proposals including completion design and operating envelope definition
  • Familiarity with well delivery activities such as drilling, recompletions, and workovers
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to integrate technical data and assess project risks to support investment decisions
  • Commitment to coaching and developing team members
