Job Summary
Maduka University is seeking a skilled Node.js Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services that support academic, administrative, and student management systems. The role involves building secure and high performance digital platforms that strengthen the university’s technological ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server side applications using Node.js
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
- Integrate third party services, payment gateways, and internal systems
- Collaborate with front end developers, UI/UX designers, and database administrators
- Optimize applications for speed and scalability
- Implement security and data protection measures
- Manage database systems including MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment processes
- Maintain documentation for technical specifications and system architecture
- Provide technical support and implement system upgrades as required
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years experience as a Node.js Developer
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js runtime environment
- Experience with Express.js or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with Git version control systems
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or similar
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Competencies
- Experience developing educational or ERP systems
- Knowledge of microservices architecture
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker
