Job Summary

The Mechanical Manager - Power Plant at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical maintenance services within the power plant are executed in line with established guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate work orders for identified mechanical issues.
  • Prioritize and assign mechanical system-related work orders to qualified maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure all mechanical maintenance and repair activities comply with established procedures and standards.
  • Supervise and guide maintenance staff in resolving complex or challenging mechanical issues.
  • Ensure personnel safety and health are prioritized, and maintain proper housekeeping during maintenance operations.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Power Plant Head or Section Head.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience in gas-based power plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance for:
    • Gas Turbines
    • Air Compressors
    • NG Compressors
    • Cooling Towers
    • Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
    • Various types of valves
    • Firefighting systems
    • R.O. and Water Treatment plants
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrated creativity and ability to think outside the box.
