Job Summary

Citibank Nigeria Limited is recruiting for the position of Markets Business Manager. The role is critical for maintaining a robust control environment across multiple desks and businesses within the Markets organisation, enabling business growth, facilitating new business initiatives, product expansion, and supporting technology change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide updates related to financial performance, opportunities, risk and control issues, escalation points, and regulatory engagement
  • Support new business initiatives, product expansion, and technology change
  • Create and provide effective metrics to stakeholders and management teams across various risk areas
  • Advance the control framework including Manager’s Control Assessment testing, operational loss processes, and corrective actions
  • Build strong relationships with country product, business, and function partners, coordinating effectively across the Markets team
  • Liaise with desk heads and support functions to deliver on business strategy
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented for control-related issues across all control functions
  • Question processes and frameworks with the objective of risk reduction
  • Prepare meeting materials, record minutes accurately, and track follow-up items
  • Relay business knowledge, product knowledge, and requirements to business and internal support functions as required
  • Communicate information within and between businesses and support functions
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities in a time-pressured environment
  • Perform other ad hoc administrative tasks supporting business activities including strategy presentations
  • Provide business support for internal and external/regulatory exams and audits

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a First Degree or equivalent, plus a relevant higher degree or professional qualification
  • Minimum of 15 years post-graduation experience, including at least 10 years in the banking industry and 3 years at senior manager grade
  • Experience in at least 3 major areas of banking operations
  • Relevant experience in financial markets, either in business or business support functions
  • Exposure to financial markets products is an advantage
  • Understanding of the broader financial markets regulatory landscape
