Citibank Nigeria Limited (CNL) was incorporated in Nigeria on May 2, 1984, and is the oldest international bank in the country. The bank provides a wide range of financial products and services to corporate and commercial customers, financial institutions, and public sector organizations. Services include deposit and loan products, global transaction services, cash management, sales and trading, corporate finance, and investment banking products.

CNL is recruiting a Government Affairs Senior Officer to provide strategic advisory and representation services, monitor policy developments, and support the company’s government relations efforts in Nigeria and Ivory Coast.

• Provide advisory services to the manager and international government affairs representatives, evaluating moderately complex issues and policies
• Review and revise weekly reports from GGA executives and present to senior management
• Attend high-level meetings with government and embassy officials and senior management
• Write talking points and prepare briefing materials for Citi senior executive meetings
• Analyze the impact of policy development on multiple business areas and communicate legislative developments and strategy
• Identify government decisions that could impact Citi and act as an expert
• Provide political risk analysis and develop advocacy strategies
• Partner with internal stakeholders to build awareness of regulatory issues that could impact Citi and its customers
• Interact with external networks and manage relationships with key policymakers
• Assess risks in business decisions, ensure compliance with laws and policies, and manage control issues with transparency

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree is a potential advantage
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a government relations expert or prior government experience with key foreign government stakeholders
• Minimum 15 years of post-graduation work experience
• Experience within Africa preferred
• Experience managing projects and issues
• Proficiency in English and French
