Job Summary

Hoop Telecoms Limited is seeking a skilled Field Support Engineer (Radio) to support the deployment, installation, testing, and maintenance of radio and microwave communication systems. The role involves on site technical operations, network performance testing, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure reliable service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, mount, and secure radio equipment, antennas, feeders, and grounding systems at site locations, including towers and rooftops
  • Power up and configure Base Transceiver Stations, repeaters, and radio gateways using approved vendor software
  • Carry out factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, and customer acceptance tests to ensure systems meet required specifications
  • Perform drive tests and walk tests using specialized tools to assess signal strength and quality across coverage areas
  • Conduct pre installation site surveys to determine optimal equipment placement, structural stability, and power availability
  • Measure VSWR and return loss to confirm efficient signal transmission and minimal power reflection
  • Install, align, and optimize microwave point to point and point to multipoint radio dishes for network data links

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Degree or technical certification in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Hands on experience with radio network installation and support
  • Familiarity with BTS, microwave radio systems, and RF testing tools
  • Ability to climb towers and work at heights when required
  • Good understanding of signal measurement parameters such as RSSI, SINR, VSWR, and return loss
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
