Hoop Telecoms Limited is seeking a skilled Field Support Engineer (Fiber) to support fiber optic network deployment, testing, maintenance, and documentation. The role involves hands-on field operations across fiber installation projects, data centres, and network hubs, ensuring optimal performance, quality standards, and accurate network records.

• Install and terminate fiber connectors such as LC, SC, and ST within patch panels, Optical Distribution Frames, and joint boxes
• Supervise and support fiber deployment through duct blowing, trenching for Outside Plant projects, and indoor cabling for Inside Plant installations
• Install optical splitters, media converters, and Optical Line Terminals
• Perform fiber link testing using an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer to measure link length and identify splices, connectors, and faults
• Inspect fiber connector end-faces using digital fiber microscopes in line with IEC 61300-3-35 standards
• Use Visual Fault Locators to identify continuity issues and short-distance fiber breaks
• Manage fiber routing and congestion within data centres and hubs, ensuring compliance with minimum bend radius requirements
• Prepare and maintain splicing matrices and fiber mapping documentation for accurate network records and troubleshooting

• Practical experience in fiber optic installation, termination, and testing
• Strong understanding of FTTx, backbone fiber networks, and OSP and ISP environments
• Hands-on knowledge of OTDRs, VFLs, and fiber inspection tools
• Ability to read and update fiber diagrams and splicing documentation
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in field environments
