Key Responsibilities
- Under direct supervision, provide on site supervision of the Logging While Drilling (LWD) process including tool preparation, data acquisition, log generation, Quality Control (QC), and delivery of services to the customer.
- Serve as a second man in a subordinate role.
- Assist in ensuring that all data presented to the customer is accurate, timely, and meets required service quality standards.
- Assist in ensuring that expected data, required data, and possible issues are communicated to the customer.
- Assist in providing technical consultation to Halliburton clients. This includes mud hydraulics, Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) planning, formation evaluation, drilling tendencies, the mud system, and BHA dynamics.
- Properly test all tools and equipment before, during, and after each job.
- Identify and correct operational problems to prevent or minimize service impact.
- Assist in completing required forms, databases, and reports such as service vouchers, lost or damaged equipment reports, radiation site survey, End of Job Customer Survey (EJCS) report, and First Alert Database (FAD) or Correction, Prevention and Improvement (CPI).
- Ensure BHA assemblies are completed as planned, including correct make up torque, doping, and handling.
- Be aware of customer requirements related to directional survey procedures.
- Assist in interfacing with the Directional Driller (DD) to ensure BHA compatibility, operating parameters are within specification, and correct tool face references are applied.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three months of field experience in M/LWD.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline is preferred.
- Completion of the basic M/LWD training program.
- Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements.
- Ability to demonstrate required technical aptitude.
- Good communication, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills.
- Ability to read and interpret formation well logs, directional survey information, and other well site data.
- Must possess relevant onshore and offshore safety certificates. This is a field position.
