Engineer, BTS Field and RHLS – Network NG at MTN Nigeria

MTN Nigeria is recruiting for the role of Engineer, BTS Field and RHLS - Network NG. The role focuses on monitoring and optimizing RBS field and radio networks to support the company’s objective of delivering quality service and improved customer experience.

• Provide high level support for complex RBS field operations and emergency fault resolution within contracted SLA
• Ensure RBS expansion and reconfiguration activities are completed according to schedule with minimal service disruption
• Implement technological improvements to enhance network service quality
• Prepare reports on RBS site availability and quality in line with SLA requirements
• Perform routine site maintenance and performance checks
• Supervise scheduled RBS radio routines
• Ensure contractor maintenance work meets MTN Nigeria specifications
• Provide support functions across MTN RAN network including ZTE, Huawei and Ericsson BSC, RNC, g-NODEB, E-NODE B, NODE B and RBS sites
• Ensure compliance with NCC security and network integrity documentation requirements
• Ensure type approval of new radio hardware or software before deployment on the MTNN network
• Perform calibration of tools and equipment
• Interface with Spare Parts Management System, vendors and related systems to optimize radio and transmission spares
• Ensure new IBS-DAS nodes are ATP tested and accepted
• Provide and manage network operation service consumables
• Maintain MTN and professional ethical standards and ensure internal audit compliance with international auditing standards
• Implement approved FNI software and hardware changes based on change requests

Education

• First Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Experience

• 3 to 7 years RF and BTS experience with a GSM or wireless telecommunications operator
• Experience in transmission and radio planning is desirable
• Knowledge of radio frequency propagation
• Experience in microwave radio equipment operation and maintenance
