Job Summary

The Chemical Engineer (CCR Operator) is responsible for monitoring and controlling various sections of the cement production line from the Central Control Room (CCR) to ensure precision, adherence to standards, and smooth operation of plant processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production line operations from the Central Control Room to ensure adherence to standards
  • Provide information and direction to patrollers and operators in liaison with shift coordination
  • Assist in implementing Dangote Industries Limited approved production processes
  • Monitor and control all plant process lines to ensure stable equipment operation, employee safety, and compliance with prescribed standards and environmental regulations
  • Log process data at specified intervals and document operational activities
  • Provide feedback and guidance to shift coordinators, Engineers, Patrollers, and Operators to ensure smooth operation of crusher raw mills, kilns, and cement mills
  • Inform patrollers, attendants, and operators of failures or potential problems and provide direction for problem solving
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot operating problems, either in consultation with shift coordinators, Engineers, and section Head, or independently when immediate action is required
  • Continuously review plant automation systems and recommend improvements based on leading practices
  • Prepare clear and concise reports on work undertaken
  • Supervise casual staff to ensure conveyor belts are clean and free from jamming
  • Ensure cement and clinker production targets are achieved during respective shifts
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the section Head or Head of Department (HOD)

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Processing Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in a relevant position
