Job Summary
Energi Talent Resourcing is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Officer to support growth within its Oil and Gas workforce and technical services operations. The role focuses on revenue expansion, client engagement, bid strategy development, and supporting regional market growth within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Build Relationships and Identify Opportunities
- Engage with clients before tender releases to understand requirements and support positioning strategies
- Identify new business opportunities across the Oil and Gas sector
- Support expansion into new clients, markets, and investor-led projects
Manage the Bid Process
- Oversee the complete bid process from opportunity identification to proposal submission
- Coordinate resources, information, and strategy to prepare compliant proposals
- Support pricing development, commercial terms evaluation, and risk assessment
Collaborate Across Teams
- Work with consultants, operations, finance, procurement, and legal teams to prepare submissions
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and partners to obtain technical and commercial inputs
- Support transition to delivery teams after successful bids
Industry and Stakeholder Engagement
- Follow up on bids and opportunities with relevant regulatory and industry bodies
- Monitor compliance requirements and maintain required certifications and registrations
- Support engagement with potential investors and assist with commercial discussions
Performance Monitoring and Documentation
- Track performance against growth targets and key performance metrics
- Conduct post bid reviews to identify improvement opportunities
- Maintain organized proposal documents, client records, and related data
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
- 1 to 2 years of experience in bidding, tendering, proposal management, or business development
- Exposure to the Oil and Gas or Energy sector is preferred
- Strong bid management skills
- Knowledge of industry regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Structured and performance focused work approach
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats
- Understanding of Nigeria’s onshore and offshore Oil and Gas regulatory environment
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in fast paced environments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
