Job Summary
RA Trading and Investment is recruiting an Accountant to manage financial planning, reporting, compliance, cost control, and accounting operations. The role involves overseeing daily accounting activities, supporting production and procurement with cost management, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing financial insights for strategic decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management
- Provide financial insights for strategic decisions such as expansion, pricing, and new product lines
- Support long term business planning and investment decisions
Cost Management and Operations
- Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements, particularly in production and logistics
- Monitor and analyze inventory costs, stock levels, and wastage
- Implement costing strategies for raw materials and finished goods
- Work closely with production and procurement to ensure cost effective operations
- Contribute to procurement and pricing strategies, especially for raw materials and imported items
Accounting Operations and Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity
- Manage banking relationships, payment processing, and cash forecasting
Compliance and Audit
- Maintain compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and industry standards
- Establish and enforce internal controls and audit trails
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Handle filing of corporate tax returns
- Provide support in financial auditing
Team Leadership
- Supervise junior finance staff and accountants
- Train and mentor finance team members
- Foster collaboration between finance, operations, sales, and production departments
Requirements & Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage
- Experience in filing corporate tax returns
- Experience in providing financial advice
- Experience in financial auditing
- Knowledge of QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Diligent and honest
