Job Seeker and Job Application Policies

Rules, responsibilities, and standards that govern all job seeker accounts and applications submitted on CorrectNG.

Last updated: March 2026  |  Applies to all registered job seekers

These Job Seeker and Job Application Policies (“Policies”) form part of your agreement with CorrectNG and apply to all individuals registered as job seekers on the platform. By creating a job seeker account, building a profile, or submitting an application through CorrectNG, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Policies.

CorrectNG is a professional hiring platform. These Policies exist to protect the integrity of every application submitted, to ensure that employers receive accurate and genuine information, and to maintain a fair and trustworthy environment for all users — both job seekers and employers.

CorrectNG reserves the right to remove any content, suspend any account, or permanently terminate access to the platform if these Policies are violated.

1

Acceptance of Policies

By registering as a job seeker and using any part of the CorrectNG job seeker dashboard or application flow, you agree to these Policies in full. If you do not agree with any part of these Policies, you must not register a job seeker account or use the job application features of CorrectNG.

These Policies apply in addition to CorrectNG’s general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict, these Policies take precedence for matters relating specifically to job seeker accounts and job applications.

2

Account Eligibility

To register and maintain a job seeker account on CorrectNG, you must meet all of the following conditions:

Age requirement. You must be at least 16 years of age to register a job seeker account on CorrectNG. By registering, you confirm that you meet this minimum age requirement.
Individual accounts only. A job seeker account must represent a single individual person. Companies, agencies, and other entities may not register as job seekers. Each individual may hold only one job seeker account.
Personal use only. Your job seeker account and any applications submitted through it must be for your own genuine job search. You may not use the platform to apply on behalf of other individuals.
Valid contact information. The email address and phone number you register with must be valid, current, and belong to you personally. This information is used by employers to contact you about your applications.
Employer accounts excluded. Only job seeker accounts may apply for jobs on CorrectNG. Employer accounts are not eligible to submit applications. If you hold both an employer and a job seeker account, you must use the correct account for each activity.
3

Account Responsibilities

Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your login credentials. You must not share your account access with any other person. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
One account per person. Each individual is permitted one registered job seeker account. Creating multiple accounts is not permitted and may result in all associated accounts being terminated.
Keep your information current. You are responsible for keeping your registered name, email address, phone number, and profile information up to date. Outdated or incorrect contact information may cause you to miss important communications from employers.
Non-transferability. Your account is personal to you and non-transferable. You may not sell, assign, or transfer your account to any other person.
No impersonation. You must not impersonate another person, create an account under a false identity, or use a name that is not your own legal name or the name by which you are genuinely known professionally.
4

Profile Accuracy and Honesty

Your profile on CorrectNG forms the foundation of every application you submit. Employers rely on the information you provide to make hiring decisions. The accuracy and honesty of your profile is therefore both a policy obligation and a matter of professional integrity.

Truthful information only. All information you enter into your profile — including your name, contact details, date of birth, work experience, education, skills, certifications, and any other section — must be accurate, truthful, and genuinely reflective of your background.
Work experience. Each work experience entry must represent employment you actually held. The job title, company name, employment dates, and responsibilities must be accurate. Gaps in your employment history should be left as gaps — do not fabricate employment to fill them.
Education. Every educational qualification listed must be one you have genuinely completed or are currently pursuing. The degree level, institution name, field of study, and graduation date must be accurate and verifiable.
Certifications and licences. Any certification or professional licence you list must be one you have genuinely obtained from the stated issuing organisation.
Skills. Skills listed in your profile should reflect capabilities you genuinely possess at a professional level relevant to the roles you are applying for.
No false or exaggerated claims. Fabricating, inflating, or materially misrepresenting any aspect of your professional background — including qualifications, job titles, experience duration, grades, or certifications — is a serious violation of these Policies and may also constitute fraud.
Verification: Employers may verify information provided in your application at any stage of the hiring process, including after an offer has been made. If a material discrepancy is discovered, it may result in the withdrawal of a job offer, termination of employment, and removal from CorrectNG.
5

Profile Data and Sections

Your CorrectNG profile is made up of several sections. Different employers may request different combinations of sections when you apply. The following rules govern how profile data is managed.

📋 Sections Overview

Basic Information — Your registered name, email address, phone number, city, state, and country. This section is always required for every application and is automatically drawn from your registration details. It cannot be omitted from any application.
Professional Summary — A written overview of your professional background and career goals. When required, this must be a genuine and substantive summary of at least 50 characters. Copy-pasted filler text does not meet this requirement.
Work Experience — A record of your employment history including job titles, employers, dates, and responsibilities. When required by an employer, you must have at least one entry on file.
Education — Your academic qualifications. When required, at least one education entry must be present on your profile.
Skills — A list of professional skills relevant to your career. When required, at least one skill must be listed.
Certifications — Professional certifications and licences. This section is optional unless specifically required by the employer for a given role.
Gender and Date of Birth — These are sub-fields within Basic Information. They are only requested when relevant to the role and are subject to the same accuracy requirements as all other profile data. Your date of birth is used to calculate your age when an employer has set an age restriction on a listing.
NYSC and Travel Preference — Your NYSC status and willingness to travel or relocate. This section is requested when relevant to the position.
Additional Information — Languages spoken, notable projects, and volunteer experience. All information entered here must be truthful and professionally relevant.
Job Preferences — Your preferred job title, industry, employment type, availability or notice period, preferred work location, and salary expectations. These are used to match you with suitable opportunities and to provide employers with an indication of your expectations.
Completing your profile: Some sections may be required before you can apply for certain jobs. If your profile is missing a required section, you will be shown a message listing what needs to be added before you can proceed with that application. Completing your profile in advance ensures you can apply quickly when the right opportunity arises.
6

CV and File Uploads

CorrectNG allows you to upload a CV or resume to your profile and to submit one with each application. The following rules govern file uploads on the platform.

Accepted formats. CV uploads must be in PDF, DOC, or DOCX format. Other file types are not accepted and will be rejected by the system.
File size limit. Uploaded files must not exceed 5 MB in size. Files that exceed this limit will be rejected.
CV must be your own. The CV you upload must be your own personal career document. You may not upload a CV created for or belonging to another person.
Content standards. Your CV must not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content. CVs containing such material may be removed and your account may be suspended.
Job-specific CV uploads. When applying manually, you may choose to upload a CV specific to that application rather than using your saved profile CV. This job-specific file is uploaded immediately on selection and is tagged as a draft. If you do not complete and submit the application, the file may be cleaned up automatically by the system.
No malicious files. Uploading files that contain malware, viruses, macros designed to execute code, or any other harmful content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
7

Applying for Jobs

CorrectNG offers two ways to apply for jobs that accept applications directly on the platform: Apply with Profile and Apply Manually. Both methods are subject to the same rules and policies.

⚡ Apply with Profile

This method submits your application instantly using the information already saved in your CorrectNG profile. Before you can use this method, your profile must contain all of the sections required by the employer for that specific role. Any missing sections will be identified and you will be directed to complete them before proceeding.

When using Apply with Profile, you may choose to use your saved profile CV or upload a new job-specific CV. Once submitted, the application is final and cannot be recalled or modified.

📝 Apply Manually

This method guides you through the application step by step, with one section per screen. You enter your information fresh for this specific application. Your progress is saved as a draft automatically, so you can return to complete it if you navigate away. Drafts are stored locally in your browser and are associated with your user account and the specific job.

One application per job. You may only submit one application per job listing. The system will prevent a second submission if you have already applied. This applies to both the Apply with Profile and Apply Manually methods.
Applications are final. Once submitted, an application cannot be withdrawn, modified, or recalled through the platform. Ensure that all information you submit is accurate and complete before submitting.
Deadline compliance. Applications must be submitted before the job’s stated application deadline. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted by the system.
Application cap. If an employer has set a maximum number of applications for a listing and that limit has been reached, the position will be shown as filled and no further applications will be accepted. This cap is set by the employer and enforced automatically by the platform.
Employer subscription. Applications can only be submitted to listings where the employer holds an active Premium subscription. If an employer’s subscription lapses after you have applied, your submitted application remains on record. However, if a subscription lapses before you apply, the system will inform you that applications are temporarily unavailable for that listing.
External and email applications: Some job listings redirect you to an external website or ask you to send your application by email. CorrectNG is not responsible for the application process, data handling, or outcomes of applications submitted outside the CorrectNG platform. You interact with those processes at your own discretion.
8

Eligibility Screening

Some job listings have automatic eligibility requirements set by the employer. The CorrectNG platform checks your profile against these requirements before allowing you to submit an application. If you do not meet the criteria, you will be shown a clear message explaining why and will be unable to proceed.

Age restriction. If an employer has set a maximum age requirement, your date of birth from your profile will be used to calculate your age. If your age exceeds the maximum as of the reference date set by the employer, you will not be permitted to apply for that specific role. This is an automated check and cannot be overridden.
Minimum experience requirement. If an employer has set a minimum years of experience requirement, your cumulative work history as recorded on your profile will be assessed. Overlapping employment periods are not double-counted — only unique time worked is totalled. You must meet the minimum threshold to proceed with your application.
Educational qualification screening. If an employer has enabled education screening, your recorded qualifications will be checked against the employer’s stated acceptable pathways. You must hold at least one of the specified qualifications to be eligible to apply.
No circumvention of screening. Attempting to bypass, manipulate, or misrepresent information in order to pass an eligibility screen that you do not genuinely meet is a serious violation of these Policies. This includes entering false dates of birth, inflating experience dates, or misrepresenting educational qualifications to pass an automated check.
Important: Passing an automated eligibility screen does not guarantee that you meet the employer’s requirements in full. Employers may conduct further verification of your qualifications and experience as part of their hiring process. Inaccurate information discovered at any stage may result in disqualification.
9

Application Conduct

The manner in which you present yourself and interact with employers through CorrectNG reflects on the platform as a whole. The following standards of conduct apply to all applications and all interactions that originate from a CorrectNG application.

Professional presentation. All content you include in an application — including your professional summary, custom question answers, additional information, and any uploaded documents — must be professional in tone and relevant to the role.
Custom question answers. When an employer has included custom questions in their application form, your answers must be genuine, relevant, and in direct response to what has been asked. Copying and pasting generic content that is unresponsive to the question is not considered a good-faith application.
Genuine applications only. Every application you submit must represent a genuine expression of interest in the stated role. Submitting applications to roles you have no intention of pursuing, for the purpose of testing the system or any other non-genuine purpose, is not permitted.
No abusive or inappropriate content. Application materials must not contain offensive, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content. Any such submission will be removed and the account terminated.
No spam applications. Submitting large volumes of applications to roles you are clearly not qualified for or have no interest in, with the intent of gaming the platform, is prohibited.
10

Draft Applications

When applying manually, your progress is automatically saved as a draft in your browser’s local storage. This allows you to continue your application at a later time without losing your work.

Drafts are browser-local. Application drafts are stored in the local storage of the browser you are using and are tied to the specific job and your user account. They are not stored on CorrectNG’s servers and are not accessible from a different browser or device. Clearing your browser data will remove your saved draft.
Drafts do not constitute an application. A saved draft is not a submitted application. You must complete and explicitly submit the application for it to be received by the employer.
CV files uploaded in draft. If you upload a CV during a manual application before completing your submission, that file is uploaded to CorrectNG’s servers immediately upon selection. If you do not complete the submission, this file may be cleaned up automatically by the system. CorrectNG is not responsible for retaining draft CV uploads from incomplete applications.
Fresh start option. If you return to a job application with a saved draft, you will be given the option to continue from where you left off or start fresh. Starting fresh will permanently delete the saved draft for that application.
11

Data Shared with Employers

When you submit an application on CorrectNG, the information you provide is shared with the employer who posted the job. It is important that you understand what is shared, how it is shared, and what rights you retain.

What is shared. The employer receives all sections of your application that were marked as required or that you chose to complete, including your name, contact information, profile data, CV, and any answers to custom questions. The employer also receives your application status and the date and time of submission.
Employer access. The employer may view, export, score, and take notes on your application through their CorrectNG employer dashboard. They may also email you directly through the platform. This is the standard functionality of the platform and by submitting an application you consent to this access.
Employer responsibility. Once your data is in the employer’s hands, the employer becomes an independent data controller responsible for handling it in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. CorrectNG is not responsible for how employers handle your data after it has been submitted. If you have concerns about an employer’s data practices, you should contact the employer directly or raise the matter with the relevant data protection authority.
Consent to screening. By submitting an application, you consent to the employer using your data to evaluate your eligibility and suitability for the role, and to make a hiring decision. This includes any automated or manual comparison of your data against the employer’s stated criteria.
Tip: Before submitting an application, review the sections being collected by the employer. You can see which sections are requested on the application page before you begin. Only submit information you are comfortable sharing with that employer.
12

Privacy and Data Rights

CorrectNG collects and stores your profile and application data in order to operate the platform. Your rights in relation to that data are governed by CorrectNG’s Privacy Policy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

Right to access. You have the right to request a copy of the personal data CorrectNG holds about you at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
Right to update. You can update most of your personal information directly through your job seeker dashboard at any time.
Right to deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting CorrectNG. Note that deleting your account will not remove application records that have already been submitted to and received by employers, as those records are independently held by the employer.
Data retention. CorrectNG retains your profile data for as long as your account remains active. Submitted applications are retained for operational and legal compliance purposes. Details are set out in CorrectNG’s full Privacy Policy.
Consent for optional data. Certain profile fields — such as gender and date of birth — are only requested when relevant to a specific application. You provide this information voluntarily in the context of that application.
13

Communications from Employers

When you apply for a job on CorrectNG, the employer may contact you via the platform’s bulk email system. Here is what you should know about these communications.

Legitimate recruitment contact. Communications from employers through CorrectNG should be limited to matters relating to your application — such as interview invitations, assessment instructions, and application outcome notifications. If you receive communications that appear unrelated to your application, please report them to CorrectNG.
Sender identity. Emails sent through CorrectNG’s employer email system will come from an address in the format [email protected], where the prefix is set by the employer. The sender name will reflect the job title of the position you applied for. CorrectNG will never ask you for money, personal banking details, or passwords via email.
Beware of fraud. CorrectNG will never contact you to request a payment, fee, or deposit of any kind in connection with a job application. If you receive any such communication claiming to be from CorrectNG or from an employer on the platform, treat it as fraudulent and report it to [email protected] immediately.
Responding to employers. When responding to employers about your application, maintain professional and respectful communication. CorrectNG is not responsible for any communications that take place between you and an employer outside of the platform.
Safe hiring reminder: Legitimate employers do not ask candidates to pay money, purchase vouchers, or provide banking information as part of a job application or onboarding process. If any employer on CorrectNG makes such a request, do not comply and report it immediately.
14

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on CorrectNG. Any account found to be engaged in these activities will be subject to immediate suspension or permanent termination.

Submitting false applications. Applying for jobs using fabricated credentials, qualifications, or experience that you do not hold is a serious breach of these Policies and may constitute fraud under Nigerian law.
Creating accounts for other people. Registering a job seeker account or submitting applications on behalf of another individual without their full knowledge and explicit consent is prohibited.
Bypassing eligibility screens. Deliberately entering false information — including false dates, fabricated qualifications, or inflated experience — in order to pass an eligibility check that you would not otherwise meet is prohibited.
Automated or bulk applications. Using scripts, bots, or automated tools to submit applications, scrape job data, or interact with the CorrectNG platform in any way that is not through the standard browser interface is strictly prohibited.
Uploading harmful files. Uploading files containing viruses, malware, or any other harmful or malicious code is prohibited and may be referred to law enforcement.
Misuse of employer contact information. Using contact details you obtain through the platform for purposes unrelated to your job application — such as unsolicited sales outreach, marketing, or harassment — is prohibited.
Posting or sharing application content externally. The content of custom employer questions, private job listings, and other employer materials you access during an application are confidential. You must not reproduce, publish, or share this content without the employer’s consent.
Interference with the platform. Attempting to access, disrupt, or compromise the security or functionality of the CorrectNG platform through any means — including SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, or any other technical attack vector — is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities.
15

Enforcement and Consequences

CorrectNG monitors platform activity for compliance with these Policies. Where a violation is identified or reported, CorrectNG may take one or more of the following actions depending on the severity and nature of the breach.

  • ⚠️
Warning. For minor or first-time violations, CorrectNG may issue a written warning requiring you to correct the offending content or behaviour within a specified timeframe.
  • 🗑️
Content removal. Profile content, application data, or uploaded files that violate these Policies may be removed with or without prior notice.
  • 🔒
Feature restriction. CorrectNG may suspend access to specific platform features — such as the ability to submit new applications — pending investigation of a reported issue.
  • ⏸️
Account suspension. For serious or repeated violations, your account may be suspended. During suspension, you will not be able to apply for jobs or update your profile. Existing submitted applications will not be affected.
  • 🚫
Permanent account termination. For severe violations — including fraud, identity misrepresentation, malicious file uploads, platform interference, or persistent non-compliance — your account will be permanently terminated with no right to reinstatement.
  • ⚖️
Legal referral. Where a violation constitutes or appears to constitute a criminal offence under Nigerian law — including fraud, identity theft, or cybercrime — CorrectNG reserves the right to report the matter to the relevant authorities.
Right of appeal. If you believe a moderation action has been taken against your account in error, you may contact CorrectNG at [email protected] within 14 days of the action being taken to request a review. CorrectNG will endeavour to respond within 7 business days. All decisions made on review are final.
16

Reporting Concerns

If you encounter behaviour, content, or communications that you believe violate these Policies or that feel unsafe or fraudulent, please report it to CorrectNG as soon as possible.

What to report. This includes job listings that appear fraudulent, employers requesting payment from applicants, communications that appear to be phishing or impersonation attempts, and any other activity that feels suspicious or harmful.
How to report. Send a report to [email protected] with as much detail as possible — including the job listing URL, the employer’s name, the nature of the concern, and any relevant screenshots or evidence. All reports are treated confidentially.
Good faith reporting. Reports must be made in good faith based on a genuine concern. Submitting false reports about employers is itself a violation of these Policies.
Your report matters. CorrectNG relies on the vigilance of its community to identify fraudulent or harmful listings. Every genuine report you submit helps protect other job seekers. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
17

Policy Amendments

CorrectNG reserves the right to update or amend these Policies at any time. Where changes are material, CorrectNG will make reasonable efforts to notify registered job seekers via email or a notice on the platform prior to the changes taking effect.

Your responsibility to stay informed. It is your responsibility to review these Policies periodically. Continued use of the CorrectNG platform after any amendments have been published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policies.
Effective date. The effective date of these Policies is shown at the top of this page. The most current version always supersedes all previous versions.
