I was in Don Jazzy, other peoples DM begging to be signed – DMW’s Logos Olori

Logos Olori, one of the latest signees of Davido Music Worldwide has recounted his struggles as an up-and-coming artiste.

The ‘Dissolve Me’ singer said that before Davido signed him to his music label last year, he was in the DM of Don Jazzy and other music executives begging for a record deal.

Logos Olori made this known during a recent interview on Cool FM, adding that when he contacted Jazzy, he did not get a response.

He also revealed that unlike the others, he never approached Davido to ask to be signed, rather the DMW boss was the one who noticed his potential and chose to sign him.

He said; “David was one person I didn’t send DM’s to, Olamide was the first artist that posted my song, I even met him in Dubai and I told him to give me one verse but I chased that verse and unfortunately I didn’t get it.

I was in Don Jazzy’s DM, and I was in everybody’s DM but a lot of them won’t reply to me, I was even in Burna Boy’s DM at some point but not for music-related issues that were just for like something he said and I replied and we argued”.

Budding Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known professionally as Asake, has revealed that he begged YBNL boss, Olamide for about two years before he agreed to sign him.

The ‘Peace Be Unto You’ crooner said Olamide invited him to his house on a random day and asked him whether he would like to join his record label, and he accepted without hesitation.

The Afrobeats sensation said the indigenous rapper told him to get a lawyer and study the terms of the contract, but he was too excited and signed immediately.

Asake said; “Before he [Olamide] signed me, I’ve been begging Baddo [Olamide] since 2020 to sign me. One day, I got to his house, then he asked me… This part burst my head. This is how he signed me. He said, ‘How are you, Asake?’ I said I’m fine. And he asked me, ‘Would you like to join YBNL?’

“You don’t understand, for somebody you look up to, somebody you respect, somebody you’ve been longing to see, to ask you that question. I told him that I’m ready. He said, ‘Go and think about it. Go and look for a lawyer.’ I said, ‘Baba, sign me now now now. I don’t want any lawyer. Because I love the [YBNL] family so much even from afar.”
