Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, has nominated caretaker chairmen for all the 23 local government areas in the state.
Fubara transmitted the list to the three-member Rivers State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Victor Jumbo hours after ordering the administration heads to take over the councils
According to a statement on Tuesday night, the Clerk of the House of Assembly, G.M. Gillis-West invited the nominees for screening on Wednesday by 8:00 am.
This is coming amid the renewed political crisis due to the refusal of the former council chairmen to vacate their offices after the expiration of their tenure.
