Super Falcons star, Rasheedat Ajibade has been named Atletico Madrid Femenino’s Player of the Season.
Ajibade is the first Nigerian to win the individual accolade at the Spanish club. The 24-year-old enjoyed a remarkable campaign for the Red and Whites.
The 24-year-old winger registered 10 goals and eight assists for Atletico Madrid during the 2023/24 season.
The former FC Robo player scored the decisive goal on the final day of the season against Villarreal which secured UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification for Atletico.
Meanwhile, in other news, Nigeria international, Ademola Lookman was recently voted Atalanta’s Player of the Month for May and June.
The 26-year-old winger beat Gianluca Scamacca and Ederson to the individual accolade. Lookman scored six goals and provided three assists in the two months.
The former Leicester City player was the hero of Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League final victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
Lookman scored a superb hat-trick in the encounter played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. He finished the campaign with 17 goals and eight assists across all competitions.
