NFF celebrates Ajibade on Atletico Madrid honour

The Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF), has congratulated Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, on her latest award at Atletico Madrid.

CorrectNG reported days ago that Ajibade was named Atletico Madrid Femenino’s Player of the 2023-24 season.

She is the first Nigerian to win the individual accolade at the Spanish club. It came after the 24-year-old netted 10 times and provided five assists for the Red and Whites during the campaign.

NFF Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi, in a statement on its website, said Rasheedat has always been a role model, who carried the Super Falcons of Nigeria on her ‘lean shoulders’.

According to him, the federation hopes that her dedication to exceptional performance will spur her to lead the Falcons to glory at Women’s Olympic Football Tournament

The statement reads; “Rasheedat has always been that role model who exemplifies what you expect of a star actor in any field. She has been an epitome of discipline and dedication, and has carried the Super Falcons on her lean shoulders with a sense of patriotism and ambition.

“We congratulate and commend her for the rare honour and we believe that the diadem will spur her even further to lead the Super Falcons to glory at the forthcoming Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France.”
